Give us a twitter-length bio about yourself: 
I'm 26 years old but am a child at heart. I love goofing off and making other people laugh - usually by making inappropriate comments at inappropriate times. I'm terrible at sitting still, so I'm constantly bouncing from one activity to another. I'm an extreme extrovert, and I love hearing other people's stories. My comfort zone is a room full of strangers where I get to talk to everyone. 

 

What brought you to CrossFit Blackbuck? 
I had my eye on Crossfit for a while but was intimidated to walk into a Crossfit gym. I saw Camden Baker's posts on Instagram about Blackbuck, so I sent him a ton of questions asking about the people and the community because that's really what I was looking for in a gym. I finally joined in January 2020 and now call Blackbuck family. 

 

How long have you been at CrossFit Blackbuck? 
About 7 months

What changes have you seen in your overall health and fitness since you began training at Blackbuck? 
I have always been pretty fit in general, but now I think my fitness is much more well-rounded. I definitely have improved my cardio endurance because you won't see me doing cardio unless I'm forced to do so in a workout. And my strength has gone through the roof because of the different strength cycles that are programmed into the workouts.

 

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?
Back squat all day! I also love anything involving shoulders. My goals are simple: a bodacious booty and curvy arms. :P

 

What's the hardest workout you've done at CrossFit Blackbuck? 
There was a workout not too long ago that involved weighted lunges and a ton of running. I walked into the gym a little early, and the class before me was telling me to just go home because it was so tough. When I tried to run after heavy weighted lunges, I could barely lift my legs up. It was awful. 

 

Currently, what’s your favorite song to workout to? 
Anything Jamie or Joe Kelly puts on or some 90s/2000s rap.

 

What is your favorite cheat meal? 
I generally like pretty healthy foods, but I would say a solid cheat meal for me would be an EXCESSIVE amount of pasta. All the pasta. 

 

What's some of your favorite things to do in Memphis? 
I live downtown, so I love walking the river or watching sunsets on the roof. I also love hanging out at local breweries (Wiseacre2 is probably my favorite right now) or doing anything outside. 

 

What advice do you have for beginners? 
If you will just walk in the door of our gym, everything else will fall into place. In less than 2 minutes of walking in, I guarantee someone will greet you and introduce themselves. You'll immediately be pulled into our family, and then all you have to do is keep showing up. Don't worry about not knowing what to do - our coaches are phenomenal and will make sure you're good to go before jumping into a workout. And every single member will be there to cheer you on and push you so that we can all get better together.
